Scope of this statement

This accessibility statement applies to the website https://www.badesee-coswig.de

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the requirements of the German Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) in conjunction with § 12a of the German Federal Disability Equality Act (BGG) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA.
The accessibility assessment was carried out as part of a self-evaluation, supplemented by the use of automated testing tools:

  • WAVE Evaluation Tool (WebAIM)
  • axe Accessibility Tool (Deque Systems) (Firefox Developer)
  • Lighthouse (Edge Developer)

The following criteria were reviewed, among others

  • Contrast ratios according to WCAG 2.1 AA (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Keyboard operability, semantic structuring, screen reader compatibility, alternative text, and responsive design
  • Forms and dialog functionality

Non-accessible content

Some content is currently not fully accessible. We are continuously working on improvements.
This includes in particular:

  • PDF files created exclusively from graphical templates (image-based PDFs): These do not contain searchable or machine-readable text elements and are therefore not accessible to screen readers. This mainly affects certificates, awards, press articles, and usage plans
  • Older videos: Some of these do not have subtitles or audio descriptions
  • Individual user interface elements: Some interactive components do not yet fully support keyboard operation

Future content

We are committed to providing all future content—especially PDF documents as well as video and multimedia content—in an accessible manner (robustness, editorial processes). This includes, among other things, structured documents, sufficient contrast, subtitles, transcriptions, and full keyboard operability in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA and the requirements of BITV 2.0.

Creation and last update

This statement was created on 12 April 2025. The last accessibility review was carried out on 24 June 2025 by the internal web editorial team using the BITV self-test. Automated testing tools (e.g. axe, WAVE, Lighthouse) as well as manual checks by the web editorial team were used.
